Planet Zoo 2 habitat calculator
Work out exactly what a Planet Zoo 2 animal needs before you build: barrier grade, minimum fence height, climb-proofing, biome, enclosure type and body size — then add a second species and see what a shared enclosure would have to satisfy. Every number is read out of Frontier's own Zoopedia data, not guessed.
1. What does one species need?
Pick a species
Returns the official barrier requirement (grade, minimum height, climb-proofing), the biome and enclosure type the species accepts, its listing size and class, plus any territorial or aggression flags from its own Zoopedia text.
2. Planning a shared enclosure?
Select every species you want in the same habitat
The calculator intersects their biomes and enclosure types and takes the strictest requirement in the list, which is what you actually have to build. If the shared-biome row comes back empty, that combination cannot share a habitat no matter how calm the animals are.
How to read the output
| Field | Where it comes from | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Barrier requirement | The species' own Zoopedia entry: barrier grade, minimum height in metres and a climb-proof flag. | Build the fence to that grade or higher. In a shared habitat, use the highest grade in the list. |
| Biome | The biomes the species accepts in the official data. | A shared habitat needs at least one biome in common; the calculator shows only the intersection. |
| Enclosure | Habitat, Aquarium, Aviary or Exhibit. | Aquarium species only pair with aquarium species, aviary with aviary. Exhibits are glass boxes, not walk-in habitats. |
| Water | The aquarium / water flag in the barrier data. | If any selected species needs water, plan a pool or tank even in a land habitat. |
| Size | Listed adult body length, male and female. | Sets the footprint you need to leave clear, and it is what makes a species feel crowded in a small plot. |
